Three Months


Three months to forget what a night revives
Summer veils our emotions with distance
Meanwhile pain is taking over our lives
Our hearts left to gaze at it’s persistence.
The words cascade as the heart reveals
Only to fall silent on a closed mind
Love takes two but often times one conceals
Leaving us alone with nothing but time
To stumble through life, our hearts in the reins
Professing how we feel in written form
What the mind forgets the words ingrain
Clouds overhead, the calm before the storm
Love at best is a torrential down-pour
Joyful Tears are still tears as they hit floors
